Orinda

Orinda is located just East of the Caldecott Tunnels and the Oakland Hills. It is only eighteen (18) miles East of San Francisco, but within reach via BART or Highway 24 of San Francisco,. Oakland, and Berkeley to the West, and Lafayette and Walnut Creek to the East.

As one of three cities locals refer to as La-mor-inda (Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda) Orinda is a slightly sophisticated yet rural community that offers residents a prestigious address, quality schools, and the convenience of a city in a beautiful, peaceful unassuming environment. The weather in Orinda is some of the most pleasant in the Bay Area. Its location on the east side of the Oakland Berkeley Hills helps shelter it from (KARL) the famous Bay Area fog, giving it pleasant warm days and cool evenings.

Once an area of vacation cottages and summer cabins, Orinda has evolved into a community of exclusive, eclectic homes, some with panoramic views of the surrounding open spaces and countryside. Residences designed by well-known Bay Area architects including William Wurster, Clarence Mayhew, and even Frank Lloyd Wright can be found scattered throughout some of the more established neighborhoods; while newer homes can be found in more recently established areas, including Sundown Terrace and Wilder.

Home prices in Orinda CA are expensive and embrace many different styles of architecture. From Spanish Mediterranean homes in the Country Club to mid-century modern homes in the popular neighborhood of Sleepy Hollow, ranch style homes in Glorietta & Ivy Drive as well as estate-sized properties in the Sandhill area. Real estate in Orinda CA is diverse and upscale, offering something for every price point and sensibility.
